JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Supportive Housing Supervisor, Supportive Housing Personal Support Workers provide individualized personal care support, homemaking services, security checks and reassurance services to Supportive Housing clients that is responsive to the needs of our clients and promotes holistic client care.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12 or Equivalent.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Preference will be given to individuals possessing a Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate or Health Care Aide (HCA) certificate with appropriate experience in the last 5 years.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle.
- Must have completed the Safe Food Handling Course.
- Possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to provide Older Adults assistance with ADL’s and IADL’s, in a safe, efficient, effective and positive manner.
- Possess a reliable and dependable work record.
- Ability to be flexible and demonstrate good judgement.
- Possess a positive working attitude and ethic and work co-operatively with others.
- Ability to work independently.
- Possess a genuine interest working with Older Adults in a community setting.
