Community Support Services

The Happy Day Club (Adult Day Program)

This service provides programming in a group setting, outside the home, for older adults who are living in the community, including those with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

  • The Happy Day Club is now available Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Transportation is arranged and lunch is provided
  • 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Fee: $13 per day

A group of CSS clients eat a thanksgiving meal together in the congregate dining program.

Congregate Meal Program

A support service that provides a nutritious meal at a central location. Friendly volunteers serve the meal on Monday at 5:00 p.m. at the Happy Day Club Centre, Sioux Towers. Advanced notice is required for bookings and cancellations.

  • Registration is required

Fee: $8 per meal

CSS volunteers carry food bags for delivery in the meals on wheels program.

Meals on Wheels

This service helps provides individuals with a hot-meal delivered to their door who are physically unable to prepare meals.

  • Monday to Friday to the community of Sioux Lookout
  • 7 days a week to clients residing at Sioux Towers
  • Noon meal
  • Registration is required

Fee: $6.50 per meal

Personal Response Service

This service gives individuals the confidence to continue to live independently in their own home by ensuring that help is only a button push away. To call for help, you simply press the Personal Help Button you wear as a pendant or a wristband. The Personal Help Button activates a small in-home communicator that automatically dials the Lifeline Response Centre.

Community Support Services is an approved contractor for Lifeline and once arrangements have been made for Lifeline coverage and equipment, we will contact you to schedule your installation.

Fees: One-time Installation Fee $89.95 + HST. Monthly fee varies based on unit model and plan. Please contact Lifeline for details.

Supportive Housing: Sioux Towers and Patricia Plaza

This program is designed to help people live independently in their own apartments. The focus is on promoting mental and physical health along with 24/7 personal support. For a monthly fee, the program provides assistance with personal care, light housekeeping, laundry and medication reminders, security checks and light meal preparation. Your Lifeline Personal Response Service is a separate monthly fee based on your model and plan.
