29 hours per pay period (bi-weekly)
Wage Range – $43.44-$52.12/hour
The District of Kenora Homes is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join our team at Princess Court in Dryden, Ontario.
As a Registered Dietitian, you will play an important role in supporting the health, well-being and quality of life of our residents. Working as part of an interdisciplinary care team, you will be responsible for assessing residents’ nutritional needs, developing individualized nutrition plans and providing clinical nutrition expertise to residents, families and staff.
Key Responsibilities
The Registered Dietitian will:
- Assess the nutrition and hydration status of residents on admission and on an ongoing basis
- Identify nutrition and hydration risks and determine appropriate interventions and follow-up
- Develop, implement, evaluate and modify individualized nutrition plans of care
- Complete required resident nutrition documentation and charting
- Monitor residents who are at high or moderate nutritional risk
- Participate in resident care conferences as a member of the interdisciplinary care team
- Provide nutrition and dietary education to Nursing, Dietary and other multidisciplinary team members
- Participate in care teams and programs including Skin and Wound Care, Bowel Management and Dysphagia Management
- Provide leadership and clinical expertise for restorative feeding and dining initiatives
- Support continuous quality improvement of the Nutrition Care, Hydration, Dietary Services and Dining programs
- Provide direction and oversight for the nutrition component of the Home’s enteral feeding program
- Work collaboratively with the Food Service Supervisor and other members of the leadership and care teams
- Promote resident satisfaction, dignity, choice and quality of life
- Provide Dietitian coverage at other District Homes when required
Qualifications
The successful candidate will:
- Be a Registered Dietitian in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
- Membership with Dietitians of Canada is considered an asset
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a team
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in working with older adults and an understanding of the nutritional needs of residents in long-term care
- Be committed to resident-centred care and collaborative interdisciplinary practice
